Good to know
- In the UK, a private car park charge is not a fine. It is a claim under a contract and has its own appeal route.
- Photos of the signs and road markings win most appeals. Take them as soon as you can.
- Appealing can mean losing the early-payment discount. It shows you the numbers before you decide.
- If court papers arrive, never ignore them. It tells you to get free advice that day.
